The service is designed to be simple and intuitive. When you place or receive a call using a CaptionCall phone, the process is seamless:

• Call Initiation: You make a call just as you would with any other phone.
• Real-Time Captioning: As the other person speaks, a professional Captioning Agent transcribes their words into text in real time.
• Captions on Display: The captions appear on the large, built-in display of the CaptionCall phone, allowing you to read the conversation as it happens.
• Hearing the Speaker: You can still hear the speaker's voice through the phone's receiver, amplified to a comfortable level, while you read the captions for added clarity.

This dual approach of hearing and reading makes phone conversations more accessible and less stressful for those with hearing loss.

Due to federal regulations, the CaptionCall service is provided at no cost to eligible individuals. The service is funded by the FCC's Telecommunications Relay Service Fund.

Eligibility Requirements: To qualify for the service, you must have a medically recognized hearing loss that necessitates the use of captioned telephone service. A hearing healthcare professional, such as an audiologist or a licensed physician, must certify your need for the service.
